The Death Of The Career Politician

Republican Senator Ted Cruz was a hit on the Jay Leno Show the other night with a few common sense observations that anyone with half a brain realizes.

Watch them here Ted Cruz

I am going to tackle an issue that I believe is way over due: term limits. We learned our lesson after FDR and added Presidential term limits. I think it’s about time we learn our lesson about Congress and term limit them!

Some pundits and talking heads will make the case for no term limits because “what if our side has a great politician in there?” Sorry, this always ends badly. The longer you stay in Washington and the longer you are away from “real life”, the more you stray from common sense.

This simply means that you have to run more decent human beings.

This will also benefit the country because more “good” people will want to run if they know the MOST they could even be in office is two terms, say.

On the flip side, it will discourage some “misguided” people who want to “get in” just to self-serve and save themselves and their family from all the destruction being driven by the political class. Just in case anyone didn’t know, the elites in Washington (President, Cabinet, Congress, Aides, etc.) don’t have to abide or follow many of the laws passed by THEMSELVES! Like the dreaded Obamacare just to name the most recent and pressing issue.

Who says that politicians are some special class of people? They do! Why are they exempt from laws they passed?

If the laws and regulations they pass are so amazing and will benefit the rest of us so much then why wouldn’t the Congress and the President want to abide by them? Hmmmmmmm……

Americans are sick and tired of the games being played in Washington. You are going to see many changes the rest of this decade. They will come in many shapes and sizes. One that must occur if we are to right the ship is congressional term limits.

NO MORE CAREER POLITICIANS!

Our Founders believed that service was just that, service. Not a place to grow comfortable and secure sweetheart deals and run the country in to the ground.

It is about time the people take back the country from the political elite before it is too late. There is a shrinking window of time where that is still possible.

Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and the like will lead this revolution that will galvanize many Democrats and Republicans, young and old, black and white. The simple reason being FREEDOM is something that both sides of the aisle can agree on. Enough said.

The Disgusting Truth: Crony Capitalism Rules

Sarah Palin was given applause – by Republicans and Democrats alike – because of a speech given in Iowa recently. She called out the ruling class in Washington; the Elected officials playing by their own rules and cowering to special interests instead of their constituents.

An Answer To All Of This “Moderate” Talk

I have heard so much talk recently about how Republicans and Conservatives have to be “moderate”, so as to appeal to more people and attract swing votes.

This is absolutely the wrong approach. I have three words for you: McCain and Dole.

Both of these “moderate” men that we Republicans chose to represent our party were hammered in general elections. It never fails; liberal republicans are looked at as flakes and always end up giving concession speeches.

American citizens want someone who has the courage to stand for what they believe in, not some wishy-washy politican, who doesnt know what he/she is supposed to believe in.

Conservatism is the protection of the people’s liberty and freedom. They want government to get out of there way. Not totally gone; like some liberal pundits have you believe. The government is there to transfer money and build a strong national defense. Real conservatives will argue this to the death.

When was the last time you saw Obama – or any Democrat – move to the center? Bill Clinton moved more to the right in the 90’s and became more popular, weird. You have seen Obama go left and just keep hanging a louie for 3 years now. You have also seen his poll numbers and approval decline by the minute. See any correlation?

Democrats always want to compromise when they don’t have power or when they split branches, like we have now. When they have full power they ram things down your throat, like the first two years of the Obama administration (stimulus, auto bailouts, Obamacare, Etc.). Anyone remember former Speaker Pelosi claiming, “we have to pass it first to see what’s in it.” I never saw ANY claims for compromise whatsoever until Tea Party Republicans were elected in congress in 2010 and the Dems lost full control.

I have a blog post by Kayleigh McEnany, who was an intern at the White House and has appeared on Fox News. She dug up some polls earlier this year about how citizens see themselves. Interestingly enough, these polls are nearly the same each year with small fluctuations. But the same result always appears: Conservatism wins. So would someone be kind enough to tell me why conservatives should ever be compromising. They are the majority and should never feel obligated to compromise. They will have the support of the American people always, and the conservative record proves itself over and over. Just ask Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy and Calvin Coolidge.
